So I've been sick for the last several days. This time around it has been a fever, perpetual exhaustion, accompanied by a WHOLE bunch of other things. Fun? Not really. First time I've been sick right before finals? Definitely not.
I usually get sick at some point during the semester. Well, I get sick at several points during the semester, but usually I get a doozy - what am I, 85? - of an illness about once a semester. Twice, now, it has been timed right before finals. As you can probably imagine, this makes prepping for finals quite difficult.
But, Patrick, doesn't that just mean more time to study? No. No it does not. Me being really sick usually means that I barely have energy to do anything. Take yesterday, for example. I went to my seminar for an hour (we finished early), dropped by the Admissions Office to let them know I wasn't dead, and then literally barely made it back to my room. I was exhausted. This makes no sense to me, but what can you do?
Anywho, my finals aren't really that bad this semester. A french in-class final (which shouldn't be too horrible) and a 15-20 page research paper for my seminar are really all that I have. Yay? Yay.
I'm pumped to go home. Seriously pumped. I haven't been back in the Bay Area since January and it will be nice to get a week of being home. And despite my love for Oberlin, the Bay Area is still where I consider my home to be. I'm ready to do just about anything to get back there for grad school and/or life in general. But we'll see what happens.
Okay, so this blog is really boring, but I wanted to kill some time at work and whine about being sick some more. And I'm pretty people deprived, considering I've been trapped in my room for the past several days.
Blah.
