Back in the bay!

It's Monday! Not having school this week, I totally forgot that it was Monday. I can't survive without a consistent schedule dictating the usual progression of time. But that's because I'm pretty pathetic/crazy.

So I'm back in the bay and loving it. I miss the bay area SO much. The California Sunshine (yes, it IS different than the Ohio sun), my family, friends, and a feeling of home. It's amazing that after 3 years of college I still feel most at home when I'm in the bay area. California born and raised and a true Californian at heart. I need to live here. The midwest just isn't the same.

I only have 6 days till I return to Ohio. In some ways, it'll be nice to have a job and get back in the swing of things. In other ways, I don't want to leave California. Maybe that's why I don't come back very often - it's so hard for me to leave. And the longer I stay away, the more I miss it. I definitely needed this week to detox from the crushing hell that was the last school year. So many bad things happened. Granted, a few really good things happened as well, but the bad far outnumber the good. But life moves on. I just needed a break.

I'll go back to Ohio looking for a new start. I want to organize my life, start taking better care of myself (including sleeping consistently WITHOUT the assistance of nyquil), begin my honors research, and start getting back into the swing of things. It won't be easy, but it'll get done. It has to get done. I can't continue on how I was acting last semester. It's time for my to grow a pair and move on. The past is behind me and now I'll look only into the future. Haha, coming from a budding historian that sounds super hypocritical. Oh well. What can you do?

I'm excited that I'll be back in Oberlin for commencement. There are a LOT of amazing people graduating and it will be nice to say one final goodbye to all of them. I'm going to miss a lot of people next year.

For now, I'm going to try to make the most out of my California visit. Tomorrow I'm taking a day for myself (cause I'm still exhausted), but I plan on being fun and doing lots of stuff before heading back to Ohio. After all, I probably won't be back in CA until Christmas. Yikes. What a thought.

So this blog post is totally random/probably not that entertaining. But whatever.
